New Darksiders 3 Footage Shows Fury Fighting A Lava Brute In A New Area

Some new Darksiders 3 footage has shown Fury fighting some new enemies in a new area in a new bit of gameplay footage, along one called the Lava Brute

Some new Darksiders 3 footage has been released, showing off some more of the game’s combat along with a new area, some sort of lava-filled cavern that might be in Hell. While there, Fury battles various skeletons and ends with fighting a large Lava Brute, a tough enemy that appears to be a miniboss.

Darksiders 3 focuses around the third of the Darksiders universe’s Four Horsemen, the lone female of the group named Fury. Wielding her whip, Fury is sent to Earth in order to track down the Seven Deadly Sins, who have escaped from their prisons and fled to Earth.

The area seen in the new Darksiders 3 footage is the third area that we’ve seen out of the game. Originally, we’d seen a sort of hub world based around a large tree, along with subway and maintenance tunnels that held Sloth, one of the Seven Deadly Sins that Fury is supposed to hunt down and kill. Whatever Sin lives in the lava area remains to be seen, but personally my money is on Wrath.

There’s still no real idea of when Darksiders 3 will be releasing other than some nebulous date in 2018, but hopefully, considering the good reviews that the last two Darksiders have gotten, hopefully Darksiders 3 can revitalize the series and continue the tradition, especially since the Darksiders series has been languishing in copyright limbo ever since the original THQ went down along with Vigil Games, the series’s original developer.

With THQ Nordic giving the series its backing now, hopefully Gunmetal Games can pick up where Vigil Games left off, and deliver a Darksiders game worthy of the name. As the game gets closer and closer to release we’ll likely be seeing more gameplay, but in the meantime if you’re interested, take a look at the YouTube video above to see the new Darksiders 3 footage for yourself.
