1#Can’t Connect to Game Lobby ?
You are not the only one, initially no one could connect to the game lobby, or when connected online, the game lags like hell, slideshow gameplay. There is no concrete solution to that but you can try setting your router to put your PC in DMZ. You can refer to this tutorial for setting your router in DMZ mode for Linksys router, if you have any other router, the theory applies.
2#NBA 2K 11 Crashes to Desktop
If your game is crashing to desktop randomly, make sure your hardware meets the minimum requirements to run the game and you have updated video card drivers. Also refer to Memory Tweak below for further assistance.
3#NBA 2K 11 Out of Screen Issues
If your display settings are not in sync with your monitor, you may experience the screen cut, or may not see full screen display of the game. Set your native desktop resolution as the default resolution for the game.
If you are on console say Xbox 360, delete the NBA 2K11 settings file under “System Settings/Memory/Games/NBA 2K11/” and the game will create a new settings file for you resolving the issue automatically. You can do the same process if you face this issue on Playstation 3.
4#Can’t Start Installer ? or Installation Failed
If you are having trouble installing the game, ensure that all active programs, particularly internet security programs, are closed prior to installation. NBA 2K 11 requires an internet connection for activation. If the installer hangs at certain point, restart the computer and re-install the game to resolve this issue.

Update your graphic drivers and DirectX to the current version, restart the computer after installing new drivers or DirectX.
6#Can’t Start NBA 2K 11
Make sure your video card supports shader model 3.0 before you try running the game, it will only run if you card supports shader model 3.0.
7#NBA 2K 11 Low Sound Problems
Update your sound card drivers, and make sure you have volume set to max for NBA 2K 11 in the mixer. Or,
- Start Game.
- [ALT] + [TAB]
- Go to your system try by your clock and locate the icon that looks like a speaker.
- Now, either right click on speaker and and chose “open volume mixer” or left click on it and click “mixer” underneath the volume slider.
- You should now see NBA 2K 11’s volume control, drag it up to the top.
Alternatively, go to Control Panel> Hardware and Sound> Sound > Click on Communications Tab and select “Do Nothing” radio button and it will fix this issue, its a permanent fix.
Windows XP
While in XP, for those who are having the same issue of low sound volume, you can try reducing the hardware acceleration, or configure your speakers to Stereo.
8#AMD Dual Core Timing Issue
Some older machines that have AMD dual core processors may experience problems running the game. If you have such a system, you should first visit the AMD website and obtain the latest processor drivers. You should only install this driver if you are confident that it is appropriate for your system (i.e. you have an AMD dual core processor).
9#NBA 2K11 Crashes, and Freezes
NBA 2K11 requires virtual memory to run properly. If your virtual memory settings are not correct, you may experience random crashes and freezes.
How to Configure your Virtual Memory
Windows XP
- From the start menu, open Settings/Control Panel.
- Double click the System icon.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Click on the Performance/Settings button.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- Click on the Virtual memory/Change button.
- Select the drive that NBA 2K11 is installed on.
- Select the “System managed size” radio button in the “Paging file size for selected drive”.
- Click the Set button.
- Click OK multiple times to return to the desktop.
Windows Vista/7
- From the start menu, open Settings/Control Panel.
- Select System and Maintenance.
- Select System.
- Select Advanced System Settings.
- Click on the Performance/Settings button.
- Select the Advanced tab
- Click on the Virtual memory/Change button.
- Check “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives”
- Click OK multiple times to return to the desktop.
