Fatal Blow is a new combat mechanic in Mortal Kombat 11 that can turn the tables in any fight. It serves as a substitute for the X-Ray from the previous titles and they work quite differently from them so we’ve prepared this handy little guide to help you learn them.
Mortal Kombat 11 Fatal Blows
Fatal Blows are only similar to X-Rays in the sense that they are used by pressing R2 + L2. This will launch your character into a Special Attack that can bury your opponent after nearly depleting their health with basic combos and attacks.
Fatal Blows can only be used a number of times and you’re only given on to use at the start of each round. The move has to cool down after you execute it regardless of it lands or not.
While this cooldown duration can subside before the end of a round, it’s more likely that the fight will be over before then.
Moreover, each character has their own unique Fatal Blows so you should be mindful of their range and technique before executing it.
Practice each character’s move and save it for near the end of the match as a last resort. That’s pretty much every everything you need to know about Fatal Blows in MK11.
