Looks like the Ryse: Son of Rome web series leak was just the start of a whole new list of projects that Microsoft is gearing up for. In their own words, Xbox One and TV go hand in hand which is why they are looking to hire a creative producer to handle certain “long term, transmedia IPs.”
According to a post by OXM, a job titled Creative Producer DnS Microsoft Studios has popped up on the Microsoft Careers website that will require work on projects like TV shows, comicbooks and similar spin offs.
Don’t say we didn’t see this coming.
Only recently a web-series based on Ryse: Son of Rome was leaked on Xbox website and we already know that a Halo TV Show is on its way to hit the market probably alongside the Halo for Xbox One; its probably evident that they want to try out their luck in this area once more.
Some of us would remember how the Viva Pinata animated series failed at the task completely, but does that mean this renewed attention towards the area would fail too? We shall wait and see.
The opening’s job description reads:
The Narrative Design team at Microsoft Studios is looking for an experienced producer, from the gaming and/or other entertainment industry, with exceptional creative, collaborative, and diplomatic skills to join us in developing and crafting new, long-term, transmedia IPs for the entire Microsoft Studios portfolio.
Also according to the job opening, the platforms and properties that the future Creative Producer will be working on will include: “core, broad-appeal, and casual games; console, PC, tablet, and mobile platforms; books, graphic novels, comics, and other tangible media; and linear media such as television, webisodes, and film.”
Does this rejuvenate your entertainment hungry soul or would you rather have Microsoft Studios work on core games instead of branching out?
