Mass Effect Andromeda Uncovering the Past
After completing ‘Remove the Heart’, access the Kett base and follow the heat lamps to find the entrance to the ice caves. Continue to eliminate enemies as you progress and arrive at the tunnel cave entrance.
Before you jump down into the chamber, destroy the four Chosen and continue through the cave. You will come across a pit and into a large room with many Kett forces.
Engage them from the high ground to keep to the safe side. Stick to the right-hand side until you get to an Angara in a cage.
Your next task is to find caged Angara in the southeast and northeast corners of the area. Stay on guard since reinforcement of Kett forces might turn in.
Continue to eliminate Kett and free the prisoners by interacting with the Kett Computer console nearby.
Once you’ve done that, speak with the Angara and scan the blockage and clear the blast zone. The next thing that you need to do is to access the north cave and interact with the apparatus.
A new tunnel will be revealed and it leads to a huge room where you come across an Ancient AI. At this point, you can either let the AI live or kill it.
Choosing to Kill the AI will lead into deprivation of its abilities later during the Meridian: The Way Home mission.
But choosing to save the AI will give you further two options: Keep the AI or handover the AI to Angara. If you keep the AI, nothing specific will happen but if you hand it over to Angara, they will later use the AI to help Ryder complete the mission Meridian: The Way Home.
