Mass Effect Andromeda Remnant Puzzle Solutions
If you complete these puzzles, not only do you receive components for crafting items but along with that, it also escalates planet’s viability by 40%, more so than any other side-quest or activity.
On top of it, presenting a wrong solution will cause an enemy wave to spawn which you must eliminate in order to take another shot at solving the puzzle. Alternatively, you can also use a Remnant Decryption Key to solve a puzzle but the keys are hard to come by.
Remnant Puzzles in Andromeda can essentially be considered as a Sudoku puzzle with glyphs instead of numbers. There are a few basic rules which, when followed, can definitely help you solve a puzzle without much difficulty.
Puzzle Rules
As mentioned earlier, there are some rules which must be kept in mind when trying to solve these Remnant Puzzles in ME: A.
- There must be a glyph inside every box
- A row can’t have more than one type of glyph
- A column can’t have more than one type of glyph
- There shouldn’t be a repeat of a glyph in a highlighted shape
Solving the Remnant Puzzles
In order to solve the Andromeda Remnant Puzzles, the very first thing that you need to do is to update the puzzle by filling in the ‘?’ marks. In order to do that, you need to use your scanner and follow the yellow power conduits to the nearby glyphs.
Once done, the next thing that you need to check is that a column, row, or a block has three glyphs filled in. After filling in the rest, look for another row, column, or block with three glyphs and move to that.
Finally, double-check the puzzle by keeping in mind the instructions/rules provided above. Double-check everything and if it all sounds good, decrypt it and hope for the best.
The Easiest Way Out!
As I mentioned earlier, Remnant Puzzles in Mass Effect Andromeda are identical to Sudoku but with glyphs instead of numbers. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t solve them using one of the many online Sudoku solvers online.
Once you’ve found one of your choice, make sure to assign a number to a glyph. For instance, assign Shape-A to 1, Shape-B to 2, Shape-C to 3, so on and so forth. After that, simply replicate/insert the glyphs as numbers into the online Sudoku solver.
Once you’ve found the solution, replicate/insert the numbers as glyphs into the Remnant Puzzle and voila! The only important thing that you need to know is that this method is only viable for Remnant Puzzles which are in perfect 4 x 4 design as the Sudoku.
It’s worth noting that Mass Effect Andromeda also features some complicated puzzles which can’t be solved like this.
