It’s been 10 months since the launch of The Creative Assembly’s most recent iteration in Total War RTS series dubbed as Total War: Rome 2. Ever since its launch, it’s been a bumpy ride, thanks to countless bugs and technical issues blighting the game.
After waiting for seven years, the extent of players’ anticipation could easily be evaluated by number of sales and concurrent players, even on the release day. However, it didn’t take long for their excitement to hit a downfall and they were left in utter dismay.
Issues like texture optimization, broken AI, and poor game performance has been there since the beginning of the launch, and although Creative Assembly did strive to overcome these issues, they weren’t much lucky.
Until now, the game received 12 patches and while each patch addresses several issues, it comes packed with its fair share of plagues.
Keeping all the small issues aside, Total War Forums and Steam Forums have been swarming with users’ comments regarding Siege AI (both offensive and defensive) and Political System which seems to be most annoying.
While many players have bid the game a farewell, a few are still hopeful that Patch #13 will bring in the true Artificial Intelligence that game promised at launch since it’s not much to ask from a game everyone has paid for.
Now, I know the developer has been quite busy with all their announcements related to upcoming DLC, but somehow I feel these issues require some immediate attention lest the developer wants to lose all their fan-base.
We have contacted The Creative Assembly to shed some light on game’s current condition and will update with more information!
