Recently we talked about two new Intel Kaby Lake X chips coming out that will be taking on AMD Ryzen. It seems that like the rest of the world Intel was not expecting AMD to release 17 CPUs altogether.
I for one was very surprised when I saw the leak. AMD really means business here. When it comes to these Intel Kaby Lake X chips, these will be based on silicon different from what we have seen on the 7700K.

As of right now all the Intel Kaby Lake series CPUs are based on the same silicon but that will not be the case when it comes to Intel Kaby Lake X chips. Intel Kaby Lake X CPUs will feature higher clock speeds but higher TDP as well. They will be based on the Kaby Lake architecture and feature the 14nm+ process node.
Intel Kaby Lake X i7-7740K CPU To Replace The 7700K
The i7-7740K will be replacing the i7-7700K and it will feature a base frequency of 4.3GHz and will boost up to 4.5GHz. It will also have 8MB of L3 cache and a TDP of 112W. This CPU will compete against the high end, top of the line AMD Ryzen CPUs that will be coming out soon.
Reports claim that the chip will also feature thermal interface material and will have integrated graphics disabled which will be bad news if you suffer from a bad BIOS.
Intel Kaby Lake X i5-7640K CPU To Replace The 7600K
The upcoming Intel Kaby Lake X i5-7640K will also not have integrated graphics and will also feature thermal interface material. This CPU will be based on the LGA 2066 socket and will have 4 cores and 4 threads.
It will be taking on the AMD Ryzen R7 1800X CPU. The CPU will be able to boost past the 4GHz marks. It will also have a 112W TDP like its older brother.
As of right now, we do not know when these Intel Kaby Lake X processors will be coming out but you can expect them to be launched after the release of AMD Ryzen next month. Let us know what you think about Intel Kaby Lake X CPU.
