Intel i9 9900K benchmarks published by Principled Technologies were a bit misleading, to say the least. The company has been working on different tests and the results have been updated. Intel also released a statement regarding the matter which we are also going to look into.
Some of the updated Intel i9 9900K benchmarks that Principle Technologies has added are as follows:
Intel already has the higher frequency and it is not surprising that even though the lead is smaller, Intel still has an edge. Intel was pretty smug about the whole Intel i9 9900K benchmarks thing once new numbers were added. The following is what the company had to say regarding the Intel i9 9900K benchmarks:
Given the feedback from the tech community, we are pleased that Principled Technologies ran additional tests. They’ve now published these results along with even more detail on the configurations used and the rationale. The results continue to show that the 9th Gen Intel Core i9-9900K is the world’s best gaming processor. We are thankful for Principled Technologies’ time and transparency throughout this process. We always appreciate feedback from the tech community and are looking forward to comprehensive third party reviews coming out on October 19.
While the AMD Ryzen 2700X has the same number of cores and threads and is based on the 12nm process, there was not doubt that Intel would pull ahead in terms of raw performance. Keeping that in mind I dont see why all this shady stuff needed to be done.
Even with these Intel i9 9900K benchmarks in front of me, I have to say that the price is pretty high and that this is going to be a tough sell. The AMD Ryzen 7 CPUs come with the same number of cores and threads but cost less.
Let us know what you think about these Intel i9 9900K benchmarks and whether or not you are interested in getting one of these CPUs.
