With AMD Ryzne breathing down Intel’s neck, Intel needs to come up with a CPU to get back up. Intel Core i9 9900K has been a long-rumored CPU from Intel and it seems that it will be announced on October 8 and its packaging looks quite similar to the engrams in Destiny 2.
The Intel Core i9 9900K is rumored to be an 8-core, 16-thread CPU that will compete with Ryzen 2700X. According to the leak, the CPU will be announced on October 8, 2018, and the NDA for the reviews will end on October 18 meaning reviews and previews will start dropping on October 19 and the same day it will be available for purchase.
Not only that, Amazon has also listed the Intel Core i9 9900K along with revealing its fancy new packaging that looks very similar to engrams in Destiny 2, Legendary engram to be exact.
According to the listing, Amazon will start delivering Intel Core i9 9900K on October 18, 2018, and is priced at $582. However, it is important to note that since Intel is yet to officially announce the release date so take it with the grain of salt.
The Intel Core i9 9900K packaging looks quite appealing to me despite its uncanny similarity with Legendary Engram in Destiny 2. Intel isn’t the one that focuses too much on CPU packaging but AMD changed things with its Ryzen CPUs that not only feature higher core/thread count but also come in a fancy packaging.
Speaking of Intel, a report has made its way on the internet suggesting that Intel will be splitting its HEDT platform between Z399 and X599 Chipsets.
The report suggests Intel Z399 chipset will be powering the LGA2066 socket while the Intel X599 chipset will be powering the LGA3647 socket.
Furthermore, the company was supposed to bring its 10 nm processors by 2019. However, time and time again Intel has delayed its 10 nm chips as Intel is still struggling with it. But still, Intel claims that it is leading with its 10 nm CPU technology.
