Hunt Showdown Graphical Tweaks

Given that game is in late alpha and is being developed on CryEngine, its performance is not very great and doesn't have the graphical options in the menu.

Here we will discuss the Hunt Showdown Graphical Tweaks, how you can change the graphical settings, boost FPS, and what graphical settings are recommended for which system.

Hunt Showdown Graphical Tweaks

Here we will discuss all the Hunt Showdown graphical tweaks and how to boost the FPS to make your gameplay experience smooth. Courtesy of Scardigne.

First, we will start with how to Tweak the graphical settings for the game as the game lacks the options to change any graphical settings. First of all, find the System.cfg file which will be located in the game’s installation folder. Just navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Hunt Showdown.

However, if you have changed the Steam installation folder then go there and navigate to Steam\steamapps\common\Hunt Showdown. By following our steps you will be able to do Hunt Showdown graphical tweaks, like very low graphical settings, low graphical settings, medium settings, hight and very high settings.

  • Very Low Graphical Settings (if you prefer smooth gameplay over visuals and have a low-budget rig)
  • Low Settings (For a budget rig)
  • Medium Settings (Recommended For mid-range system)
  • Hight Settings (Recommned For High-end system owners)
  • Very High Graphical Settings (Must have a supercomputer period!)

Very Low Settings Configutations
Open up the SYSTEM.cfg in a notepad and replace all the settings from the following in the System.cfg file. Copy and paste the following as is to set the game’s settings to very low. This should boost your FPS.

sys_languages = “english”

–to cap the V-sync to monitor’s refresh rate
r_vsync=0

–set it to 1 if you are running the game on multi-GPU system or set it to 0 if you have only one GPU
r_multiGPU=0

–put in the value of your choice to change FOV
cl_fov=80

–0 means disabled 1 means enabled

High Graphical Settings
These are the graphical settings that we recommend you only enable if you really have an extremely heavy system, like having a GTX 1080ti at least and a Core i7 8700k with 16 GB of RAM.

Open up the System.cfg file in notepad, delete everything in the file and copy/paste the following to play Hunt Showdown on High graphical settings.

sys_languages = “english”

— VSYNC CAP TO MONITOR REFRESH RATE
r_vsync=0

Very High Graphical Settings
If you are thinking about playing Hunt Showdown at these graphical settings then you must have a supercomputer as the Very High graphical settings are extremely demanding and will bring down a 1080Ti SLi system to its knees.

Open the System.CFG file in notepad, delete everything in it and copy/paste the following into the file and save it.

— LANGUAGE
sys_languages = “english”

— VSYNC CAP TO MONITOR REFRESH RATE
r_vsync=0

— FOV

FPS Boost
There is one other thing PC gamers can do to boost the FPS in Hunt Showdown, however, this will only work, if it works, for Nvidia GPU users especially who own GTX 10 series GPU.

For this, open up the Nvidia control panel and select “Manage 3D Settings” and then select “Program Settings”. From the drop-down menu select the game and if it isn’t there then add the game’s exe to the list.

Once the game is on the list look for the V-sync option and set it to “Fast” and then hit apply. This has the potential to increase the FPS for Hunt Showdown. However, the FPS will also depend on the graphical settings you are using for the game. Also, look for the Texture Filtering option and set it to “High Performance”. These potentially can increase your FPS for Hunt Showdown.

Power Options
Go to Power Options and then Additional power settings and select High performance. Hit Change plan settings which would be near the High performance tab, click Change plan settings and Change advanced power settings. Search for Processor power management and click the + icon to your left.

Set the Minimum processor state and Maximum processor state to 100% and hit Ok. However, make sure your CPU cooler is good enough in order to perform this tweak.

Update Your Graphics Driver
In order to have a smooth gameplay, you should update your graphic card drivers frequently. Doing this will give you have the best performance.

Solid State Drive
An SSD or an NVMe will help you boost things up if you shift the files to the drive. The higher transfer, read/write speeds will give you a higher performance.

Windows Performance Settings
Search for performance and go to Adjust the appearance and performance of Windows and select Adjust for best performance from the options in the Performance Options. Hit Ok.

Game Mode
Open Windows Settings and click gaming. Set Record game clips, screenshots and broadcast using Game bar to Off from the Game Bar. From the Captures tab, set Record in the background while I’m playing a game to Off. On the Game Mode tab, set Game Mode to Off.
