An alleged industry insider has posted a poster over at NeoGaf claiming it to be the first hint for the upcoming Hitman Season 2.
However, several users have pointed out that the overall quality of the poster is not as high as it would be expected from Square Enix. Also, given that this poster has not officially been released by Square Enix take is a grain of salt.
According to Hakan Abrak, Studio production director at IO Interactive, Hitman Season 2 will feature new locations and cities along with more free content like Elusive Targets and Escalation Missions. He further added that even though season one has ended, but that does not mean that locations in the game such as Paris or Marrakesh have become irrelevant, as more missions and events will be added.
Also, players’ progress from Hitman Season one will also be carried over to the second season along with unlocked weapons and gears.
It terms of narrative for the game we might be seeing major improvements in Hitman season 2 over the first season as lead writer Michael Vogt previously said that season one is just the beginning for Hitman.
The story’s really only beginning [with the first season]. Season 1 is the first act in a feature film. You know all the characters, you know the stakes, you know the dilemma, but it’s only getting started.
