Hideo Kojima: “Just By The Trailer” You Can Not Know What Death Stranding is About

According to Hideo Kojima, you can not figure our what Death Stranding is about just by looking at the released trailers.

Death Stranding is Hideo Kojima’s first project after parting ways with Konami. The iconic game developer announced his title last year at E3 2016 and many assumed that Death Stranding would take some time.

But the game’s development progress is faster than we expected. According to Del Toro, we can expect gameplay soon as the game has entered the editing phase. Still, details about the game are very limited and just from the trailer, it is hard to figure out what Death Stranding is about.

In fact, Hideo Kojima himself has confirmed this much. According to Hideo Kojima, players can not know what the game is about just by watching the trailers.

Just by the trailers, you can’t know the type of game it is, what is it about. It is an action game on an open world. You can go pretty much everywhere and do what you want to do.

The game features The Division and Uncharted like gunplay. Hideo Kojima mentioned that DS is an open world action game.

Kojima has previously stated that Death Stranding will be out before 2020, so hopefully, we actually will be seeing Death Stranding gameplay sometime within the next year or two. With all of the buildup that’s been happening, plus all of the weird imagery and the inclusion of Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus in two major roles. Unlike Silent Hills, Kojima has complete creative freedom for Death Stranding.

DS is set to release on PlayStation 4 sometime in late 2018 or early 2019. We can expect more details from PlayStation Experience and Video Game Awards this year.
