Here’s A Tour Of The Middle-earth: Shadow of War Regions, Five In All

The five different Middle-earth: Shadow of War regions that are going to be in the game are much more varied and vibrant than the first game's.

Players that were annoyed with how there were only two small regions to run around in with Monolith’s Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor might be more interested in the Shadow of War regions, of which there are five, and all of them are apparently bigger than the original game’s areas.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor only allowed players to go to two different regions: the immediate area of the Black Gate, and the coast of the sea of Nurn. However, Shadow of War, being a game where your character Talion is attempting to conquer Mordor from Sauron, is going to be much bigger, with all of its environments being more detailed. And Monolith has given us a tour.

The Middle-earth: Shadow of War regions number five in total: Minas Morgul (the conquered city of Gondor on Mordor’s border that used to be called Minas Ithil), Seregost (where we first saw fortress gameplay), Cirith Ungol (a Mordor border outpost), Gorgoroth (the plains close to Mount Doom), and Nurn. Each of these regions will be ruled by a separate tribe of orcs ruled by an Overlord, and Talion will have to conquer them all over the course of the story.

Each of the different regions has a different feel to it. Whether it’s the city gameplay of Minas Ithil and Minas Morgul, the mountains and ice fields of Seregost, the cave systems of Cirith Ungol, or the lava of Gorgoroth, players will be going to a lot of different environments over the course of the story.

With all of the different areas to explore, fortresses to conquer, and activities and missions to do, the Middle-earth: Shadow of War regions are definitely shaping up to be much more lively than the original game’s areas. Middle-earth: Shadow of War comes out on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on October 10.
