Sony’s God of War is one of the most praised games this year. After Paris Games Week where we got one more glimpse at its gameplay and saw how Kratos matured through the years, Sony went silent about the game’s release date. While everyone was waiting for Playstation Experience (9-10 December) to come and save the day, it seems that a European online retailer gave us what we all wanted. God of War Release Date is set in March 23rd, 2018 for Europe as the leak suggests.
The date stated by this online retailer is within the time limits Sony gave for the game’s release since according to their latest announcement, we’ll be able to play it somewhere in the first quarter of 2018. There’s still no official response from Sony so, as far as we know, this leak could be a false advertisement.
Don’t forget that Sony’s last “first quarter hit” Horizon: Zero Dawn had a successful launch in February. If Sony is keeping track of other IP sales in order to give us a solid release date for God of War, then we may see this happening here too.
What we can say for sure is that God of War is scheduled to exclusively release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro in early 2018.
The latest information we got about God of War’s gameplay is that combat is going to be getting a number of change-ups from the quick-time oriented button-masher that it used to be in previous God of War games. According to director Cory Barlog, there will be no quick-time events and the weapons are much more different than we were accustomed to.
God of War isn’t the only PlayStation 4 exclusive title to be waiting for. The remake of Shadow of the Colossus and The Last of Us 2 are two titles which Sony has given a lot of love to and we can’t wait to hear about their release dates.
