Sony Santa Monica Studio has been working hard on the upcoming God Of War PS4 and the studio is yet to announce the release date for the game. God Of War games have always been third-person action adventure games but that does not mean that the studio did not try to do something different, as Head of PlayStation’s Magic Lab has revealed that a first-person God Of War PSVR demo was developed.
Speaking with Glixel, Head of PlayStation’s Magic Lab, Richard Marks, revealed that the division has been working with experimental tech for few years that led to the creation of PSVR and at the same time Sony Santa Monica Studio developed a first-person God Of War PSVR demo.
So this is 2009, 2010. We had the PlayStation Move controllers, and a lot of people were just doing different stuff with them. We put them on our head and did this with the TV. Another guy in R&D was putting it on his head and having a phone screen in front of his eyes, and that’s, you know, more like VR. And the same thing happened down in Santa Monica Studios. They made, like, a God of War VR demo.
Unlike the first three games in the God Of War series, the upcoming God Of War PS4 will be set in Norse Mythology y which consists of Thor, Loki, and Odin, and Cory Barlog has confirmed that God Of War PS4 is a beginning of a new saga, which makes sense, given how the original trilogy ended, spoiler alert, Kratos killed all Greek Gods.
God Of War is an upcoming action-adventure game in development at Sony Santa Monica Studio and will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4.
