God Of War is one of them most anticipated PlayStation exclusive games and fans are eager to play it. It will be a while before we actually get to play the game but, Sony Santa Monica has been sharing details about God Of War PS4 and this time the studio has talked about Kratos’ son and how he will help players in the game.
During E3 2017’s game director Cory Barlog spoke about Kratos’ son, Atreus, during a behind-closed-doors discussion. Since the reveal of the game, many fans worried that God Of War PS4 will be like an escort mission and players will be constantly worried about Atreus but, that is not the case.
According to Barlog, Atreus will be quite useful in the game and will be a competent companion. He can be used in battles and the only time he will be in danger is players put him in such a situation.
Atreus moves on the battlefield on his own. He’s competent enough to get out of the way when he pulls the attention of the enemies. There’s a risk/reward system there. You can use him in battle but, if you do it too much, he could get overrun and knocked out. He’s not dead, but you won’t have use of him until you go over and wake him up. The only time the son is in danger is when you put him in danger. I find that really fascinating, that you won’t have anyone to blame but yourself.
Also, the studio has revealed that the God of War footage showcased at Sony’s E3 2017 press conference was not from Sony’s upgraded console, PS4 Pro but, it was running on standard PS4.
God Of War is an upcoming action-adventure game in development at Sony Santa Monica Studio and will launch exclusively for PlayStation 4.
