God Of War launched for the PlayStation 4 on April 20, 2018, and Sony Santa Monica has been rolling out patches for the game to fix some issues, however, there are some issues that the game has been having and here we will discuss all of those issues.

God Of War Black Bars, HDR and Stuck At Start Screen Fix
God Of War 4 is the latest entry in the franchise that brings back Kratos in the God killing business but this time he has his sone Atreus along with him. This time the game is not set in the Greek Mytholygy but is set in Norse mytholygy.
The following are the issues that players have been facing while playing God Of War 4 along with their possible fix and workaround.
Black Bars Fix, No Fullscreen Fix and Cropped Screen Fix
Some players have reported that they are facing an issue that causes black bard around the screen while playing the game. The reason why you are seeing black bars around the game is that the game hasn’t been scaled properly.
To fix this issue, go to the settings> Sound And Screen> Display Area Settings and increase the Display area and adjust it to your liking. This will remove the black bars. Also, if you increase the display are too much, you might face some issues with the HUD.
How To Enable HDR
Sony Interactive Entertainment introduced HDR(High Dynamic Range) to the PlayStation 4, however, some users don’t know how to enable the HDR as God Of War is the game that needs to be played on an HDR display.
Before we tell you how to enable the HDR, first you need your PS4 system software to be updated, a premium HDMI cable, HDR capable display and enable HDR from your TV.
Now go to Settings> Sound and Screen> Video Output Settings. Here set the HDR and Deep Color settings to automatic. Now start God Of War and go to settings and toggle the “Enable HDR Content” and play the game in HDR.
Game Freezing
Some players have reported that while playing God Of War it freezes at a particular point in the game every time. To fix this issue, all you have to do is restart your PlayStation 4 and the issue won’t bother you for a good while.
Game Stuck On Start Screen, Controller Not Working Fix
Some players have reported that when they start God Of War after updating the game, the buttons don’t work except for the “PS” button. Try restarting the console might fix it. However, if it isn’t fixed by this then you are going to need the game to uninstall and download again.
