The Witcher 3 is one of the best games of current-generation that has set a new standard for RPGs, however, CD Projekt Red has said it many times that they have no plans for The Witcher 4 and the studio stands by its word but has now hinted that there might be games set the Witcher’s world.
Speaking with Polish website Strefa Inwestorow, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kiciński talked about the future of The Witcher franchise and reiterated that the studio has no plans for The Witcher 4 but, hinted that there might be other games in the Witcher universe.
According to Adam, the studio still owns the rights to The Witcher IP and fans and investors will probably “won’t forgive them” for abandoning the IP. While we won’t be getting a fourth game in The Witcher franchise but, the idea of other games in the same world is definitely interesting and we would love to see what CD Projekt Red can do.
CD Projekt Red is currently working on Cyberpunk 2077 and Geralt’s voice actor, Doug Cockle, might be featured in the game.
During a panel at EGX 2017, he talked about his involvement with CD Projekt Red’s upcoming projects which also includes the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077.
What I have discussed is the idea of me being involved somehow. Whether that’s a major part or just an easter egg. I hope so, I really enjoy working with them. But I haven’t had significant contact. We have jokingly talked about it
Not much is known about the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 but, a rumor has been making rounds on the internet that the game will be 4 times bigger than The Witcher 3 and its DLCs combined.
