Fumito Ueda is known for developing The Last Guardian and Shadow Of Colossus and now the esteemed developer has teased his next project for genDESIGN which he founded in 2014. The teaser comes from the company’s own website and while it doesn’t give away much but it is beautiful nonetheless.
The teaser image for Fumito Ueda’s next project showcases a mysterious girl sitting on an altar and what seems to be hands of a giant creature. Nothing is known about the upcoming project but we are sure it will be just as beautiful as Ueda’s previous projects.
Speaking of Ueda’s upcoming project, back in 2017 he revealed that given that chance, he would like to create an open-world game quite similar to that of Shadow Of Colossus as he is done with The Last Guardian.
I cannot talk about the details [of my next project] but… Shadow came out of the experience with Ico, [going] from a closed world to open world. When I completed Shadow, there was a moment where I wondered if I wanted to go around an open world again, and maybe I should go back to a more closed space, spending a more intimate time with something in that space. That became the starting point for The Last Guardian.
Furthermore, Ueda has also shown interest in bringing The Last Guardian to PSVR but added that he has doubts that he won’t be able to make a good product.
He added that his biggest concern about the VR is the motion sickness and he does not know if it would be a good idea to bring Shadow Of Colossus to VR. He added that he does not feel confident that the team would be able to find a work around this problem.
