Forza Horizon 4 developer Playground Games has acquired developers from well-known studios such as Bioware, Guerrilla Games, Rocksteady and more. This indicates that the studio is working on another title other than Forza Horizon 4 which might be a new Fable game.
As reported by GamesIndustry, Forza Horizon 4 developer Playground Games has acquired talent from popular studios including Bioware, Rocksteady, Guerrilla Games and Ninja Theory to work on a new title.
Playground Games has hired Martin Lancaster as the Narrative Director. Martin was a senior scriptwriter and later became lead scriptwriter at Rocksteady and has worked on Batman Arkham Knight and Batman Arkham VR.
From Ninja Theory, Playground Games has hired Chris Goodall as Principal Animator. Goodall has worked on games such as Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, DmC: Devil May Cry and Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice.
Joe McKernan has returned as Lead UI Artist after four years. Joe McKernan has worked on first two Forza Horizon titles, Horizon Zero Dawn and Destiny 2. According to studio director Gavin Raeburn:
I’m really pleased with the quality of the team we’re building here at Playground. We continue to attract world-class talent from around the world thanks to our exciting projects and the passion of our team. It’s been a fantastic start for our second studio and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow over the coming months.
Playground Games was recently acquired by Microsoft as 1st-party Xbox developer. The studio is also working on another IP as well as the Forza Horizon 4 developer Playground Games has confirmed that it is working on an open-world non-racing title.
According to founder and creative director, Ralph Fulton, the team has become quite good at developing racing games but they want to prove themselves in a different genre.
While the studio has been very secretive about its nom-racing title in development but, rumor has it that the studio is working on a new Fable game.
The talent that Forza Horizon 4 developer has acquired will probably be wasted if they are working on a Forza title.
Given that these developers have vast experience working on single-player RPGs like Horizon Zero Dawn, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Batman Arkham Knight and more, it is suffice to say these developers will be working on a new Fable game or an entirely new RPG title.
