Forza Horizon 4 is one of the best looking games of this generation of consoles which also happens to be a PC title. Forza Horizon 3 also launched for PC but struggled to reach 60 FPS but Forza Horizon 4 benchmarks reveal that things are different this time around.
According to the game’s benchmarks, developer Playground Games has done an incredible job optimizing Forza Horizon 4 on PC. Forza Horizon 4 benchmarks have revealed that the game can achieve a smooth 60 FPS experience on both Nvidia GTX 1060 and the Radeon RX 580.
However, the game is so well optimized that it provides a 60 FPS experience at 1440p on Nvidia GTX 1060 and Radeon RX 580 at Ultra settings.
Part of the reason why the game is so well optimized is the inclusion of the Xbox One X from the start of the game’s development which also resulted in the game’s engine handling multi-threads efficiently.
Forza Horizon 4 being well optimized is surprising as it is one of the best looking games on this generation and still manages to get 60 FPS at 1440p for mid-range GPUs.
What is more surprising is that both Nvidia GTX 1060 and Radeon RX 580 manage to get 40 FPS at 4K resolution. Forza Horizon 4 is running above 40 FPS at 4K resolution on GPUs that are designed for 1080p gaming, Let that sink in!
The benchmarks were done by Techspot, and the GPUs in question are 6 GB version of GTX 1060 and 8 GB version of RX 580. The system used for the benchmarking features Intel Core i7-8700K clocked at 5 GHz and 32GB of DDR4-3400 RAM.
As you can see in the Forza Horizon 4 benchmarks, the game manages 79 average FPS and 67 min-FPS on GTX 1060 at 1080p and the RX 580 manages to render 88 average and 73 min FPS.
At 1440p, Forza Horizon 4 benchmarks reveal the game’s performance for GTX 1060 at 62 average FPS while the RX 580 managed to render 69 average FPS.
Speaking of Forza Horizon 4, the game is just a day away from launch and Microsoft expects it to be the best-selling Forza game ever. Not only that, pre-orders are also well ahead of Microsoft’s expectations.
Forza Horizon is an open-world racing title developed by Playground Games and is scheduled to launch on October 2, 2018, for PC and Xbox One.
