Publisher Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy XIII-2 will arrive on Steam on December 11, 2014. It will host new features, particularly those that affect visual quality.
The PC port of Final Fantasy XIII-2 will include custom resolutions, as well as graphics options. Resolutions for 720p, 1080p and more will be available, which might hint at possible 4K support.
Moreover, the game will run at 60 frames per second (fps). Japanese players will only receive the Japanese voices, while other regions can choose between Japanese and English.
Additions are likely announced right out the gate due to the previous installment’s shortcomings. When Final Fantasy XIII first dropped on Steam, it had a fixed resolution that didn’t gel with the modern crowd of PC gamers.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the second game from its trilogy to be ported to Steam. Previously, Square Enix revealed that it would bring all three games in the near future.
In Final Fantasy XIII-2, party members can gather up to 150 different monsters, which can be added to the party as a supplement. These monsters join the active battle system and act like other characters with the addition of a feral link that affects other creatures.
Originally, Final Fantasy XIII-2 launched on consoles in Japan in late 2011. It then arrived in other regions at the end of January of 2012.
It’s possible to preorder Final Fantasy XIII-2 on Steam now. Normally, the sequel will set you back €15.99, though it can be bought now for a 10% discount. Steam Trading Cards will be available at launch.
