It’s been over three years since the announcement of Final Fantasy 7 remake and we are still waiting for the game. While we don’t have a release date but, the game director has hinted that other Final Fantasy 7 spinoffs might end up in the remake.
At a recent event, game director Tetsuya Nomura noted during the Q&A session that Final Fantasy 7 spinoffs like Crisis Core and Advent Children movie might be included with the remake.
He added that he has talked about Final Fantasy 7 spinoffs with the game’s producer. However, the team hasn’t decided anything yet.
I’m thinking about ideas regarding the remake’s release—I even spoke to producer Kitase about it today. All of us old-timers are considering various developments in regards to what accompanies the remake. Like if we can manage to do something about the Compilation [of Final Fantasy VII] titles too. But for the time being, please wait for VII‘s turn to come.
This Final Fantasy 7 compilation will include Advent Children and Last Order movies. Not only that, the compilation might also bring the mobile game, Before Crisis, Vincent Valentine shooter Dirge of Cerberus and the Crisis Core game. Crisis Core features Zack as the protagonist.
As I said before, it’s been over 3 years since the game was announced. However, the game is still not in active development. According to Tetsuya, he is currently focusing on Kingdom Hearts 3. Once he is done with the game he will start working on Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
This means we are still years off from Final Fantasy 7 remake release. Kingdom Hearts 3 launches in January 2019 and once the game is done then the Final Fantasy 7 PS4 goes into full production.
There is not much news on the Final Fantasy 7 but, leaks and rumors are keeping us in the loop. The remake will be episodic and according to the report, the first Final Fantasy 7 remake episode will release by the end of 2019. Not only that, the leak suggests that the first episode will end at the Tiny Bronco theft.
Final Fantasy 7 remake is an action-adventure game in development at Square Enix. The game is a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
