If one title was to be released and caused a big uproar, that would be the new Final Fantasy 7. Even though the title is in development for quite some time now, there is still no news about its release date. Final Fantasy 7 Remake director Tetsuya Nomura may have given a big tease for the game in an announcement in Famitsu.
As Nomura hinted, fans will have to wait for “important details” that would be announced sometime soon. As everyone would expect and as we already discussed some days ago there’s a big possibility that an announcement about the Final Fantasy 7 may come at Paris Games Week 2017 that starts November 1st.
Giving a release date before the end of 2017 would be a big plus for the title and franchise since this year is the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII and the 30th anniversary of the series in general. Making an announcement as huge as the Final Fantasy 7 Remake would be extremely positive for the fans.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake Director though is not one to be trusted when it comes to releasing games. Tetsuya Nomura was previously working on Final Fantasy 15 as a director until he was replaced by Hajime Tabata so that the project can see the light of day. He is also the director of Kingdom Hearts 3, which also doesn’t have a release date yet.
In Final Fantasy 7’s case though Tabata would not take the lead if Nomura was to be stripped from it. As he announced he doesn’t want to take part in the title’s development since it’s called one of the best video games ever created and he wouldn’t want to possibly disappoint fans. He would “prefer leaving the Final Fantasy 7 remake to the game’s original directors, Yoshinori Kitase and Tetsuya Nomura” as he said.
Let’s be realistic though, it may not even be Nomura’s fault that Final Fantasy 7’s release date is still out of the picture. As he claimed some time ago he can’t share details about the game because “Square Enix says no”.
Let’s hope this time Final Fantasy 7 Remake Director will have his opportunity to talk about the game and its potential release date. Next step will be seeing the game at Paris Games Week 2017, so we are crossing fingers for that.
