DOTA 2’s Price Will Depend on How “Nice” of a Player You Are

If you’re a long-time Dota player, then, this is good news for you! Valve has recently revealed a rather interesting payment scheme for the upcoming Dota 2.

Valve owner Gabe Newell reveals that players will be charged depending on their attitude in the game and what they bring into the community. One good example of this is if you’re a team-player, help “noobs” out, etc. – then, you’ll be able to play for free; while asshat players who pick on new players, exploit game mechanics, etc. will be tasked to pay more to continue playing.

So, in practice, a really likable person in our community should get Defense of the Ancients 2 for free because of past behaviour in Team Fortress 2. Now, a real jerk that annoys everyone; they can still play, but a game is full price, and they have to pay an extra hundred dollars if they want voice

Now, this is rather interesting, no? Hopefully, this puts an end to the genre’s very high entry level standards. I mean, not everyone  can be “godlike’ in the game immediately, right?
