If you were waiting for the arrival of Dota 2 Reborn update, then rest assured that it is coming your way. Developer Valve has announced that the awaited update is coming to a PC near you soon.
When the Reborn update comes to the main client, Dota 2 will officially shift to Source 2 engine. The option was available for a while, but not in the main client.
Reborn’s release and Source 2 shift will benefit tournaments, and developers say that there are some features that need work when the update is released, but they do plan on getting them done quickly.
Expect the weeks that follow to focus on ironing out issues, refining the dashboard and iterating based on your feedback. Afterwards, we’ll begin shifting our attention toward the in-game UI, where we plan to redesign the HUD and work on a variety of other in-game features.
A release date for the update is still missing from the scene, but we will get more information regarding that in the coming weeks.
Valve recently held The International 5, where Evil Genius took home winnings from its $18 million prize pool. Ti5 is behind us and Valve is preparing for The Majors this Fall. We can expect the update to roll-out before the events kick-off.
