With Social Media we tend to get a behind the scenes look at the games industry. While not that much of a deep one, some tweets cause quite a bit of excitement, and tease very interesting scenarios.
Today Neil Drackmann, Creative Director and Writer of The Last of Us and Uncharted 4 posted a tweet that sent fans into a frenzy and opened up a very interesting future. A future will never likely happen:
Look, Valve, all I’m saying is you give us the Half Life license and we’ll take care of the rest. 😉 https://t.co/XkrWjtfXyJ

Could Naughty Dog handle a game based on Half Life? Very probably, are they hinting at wanting Half-Life 3? Probably, and this is what fans would want.
Whether Naughty Dog would be given the license to Half-Life is another matter, especially as they are a games company that all but seem tied to Sony and the Playstation platform. Half-Life is a franchise that may have made its way to the consoles with Half-Life 2, but it is very much a PC game. Though I’m sure the company could make games for other consoles too.
Also we have to look at the style of games that Naughty Dog release. Would they be willing to make Half Life a traditional first person shooter, or would they push to change it into a third person adventure like The Last of Us and Uncharted? That may not rest well with fans.
What this tweet represents is nothing but a tease. If anything were to actually come of it, it would of course be huge but it is very doubtful. While I’d love to be wrong on this, and it would be interesting to see how Naughty Dog would handle it, I don’t see it happening.
