Devil May Cry 5 Nico Is Not Playable, Here Is Why

Devil May Cry 5 Nico is a new character that has got a lot of love and some of them want Nico to be a playable character. While I understand that the new face in the franchise is getting traction and people like her but devs have confirmed that Nico will not be a playable character in Devil May Cry 5. They have also explained why that is the case.

Game director Hideaki Itsuno talked about Devil May Cry 5 Nico and the following is what he had to say in this regard:

We never thought to make her playable. The way we see Nico, she’s not the type to go out there fighting. She is the one who gives you crap. “You’ve gotta be better at fighting! You’ve gotta be careful with the merchandise!” The idea is that you’re going to play as Nero, and that’s part of her appeal. She’s not the one who goes out there to fight. She is the one that tells you that you gotta man up and improve your game.

Nicoletta “Goldstein is confirmed to be the granddaughter of the same person that made Dante’s guns. This is something that fans speculated and the latest trailer confirmed this bit of information. The idea behind Nico was that she is going to be a sassy character that smokes and gives the player crap. The following is what the devs had to say in this regard:

One of our thoughts was, “Ok, let’s try to do something a little different with her.” That comes from the sassyness. As a guy who gets the chance to interact with all kinds of people all the time, it’ll be cool to hang out with a girl who is that sassy, smokes all the time, points out your flaws, and gives you crap when you need it. There is something cool about being around that kind of person. That’s where Nico comes from.

Devil May Cry 5 is on its way to become the best hack’n slash game of this generation. For more information regarding the game, stay tuned.
