A quick-thinking member of the CD Projekt RED forums managed to snap a good bit of info for fans of CDPR’s 2015 Game of the Year hit, more specifically for the yet-to-be-released second expansion pack, entitled “The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine.”
With the resounding success not only of the vanilla Witcher 3 game but also that of its first expansion, “Hearts of Stone,” the Witcher has come a long way from a relatively obscure Polish book series, now a titan of role-playing games and known for its unique universe, detailed politics, its mutant male lead, Geralt of Rivia.
Reddit user linkman214 managed to come across a Steam forum topic dealing with possible upcoming content for the expansion, taken from the CDPR forums via a hastily deleted topic by user DarthasBinar.
The information included things such as new armor, new boss fights, new animations and combat moves, balance adjustments, trophy reworks, new endings for the DLC, and a new map that’s about the size of the game’s already massive main area, Velen that takes the form of a region often spoken of in the game’s dialogue: the Nilfgaardian duchy of Toussaint.
The leak also confirms that the expansion will come out sometime in June, though he could give no regards to the possible story.
“Devs said they dont want to push things sooner because they want the Fans to miss The Witcher more and more. Development will be over around the End of April and Early May, but might pushed later for release. We gonna see new gameplay movies around End of May,” the leak said.
Considering that back in January, CDPR already claimed that Blood and Wine was “more refined” they’re certainly not skipping out on the hype this time.
Even before the first expansion came out, CD Projekt had already promised that both of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansions combined would be about as big as Witcher 2, along with the appearances of characters “both new and sorely missed.”
