Update: It seems the post was a mistake by Emily as she was not given approval from Kojima Productions to post about her and Troy Baker’s involvement in the project. She has since removed her Instagram post but the leak is already out there.
It is safe to say that we will be hearing something about this in the near future.
Original Story: Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima’s first title after departing Konami, is going to feature Troy Baker as well as actress Emily O’Brien. The later posted an image on her social media page, telling the world about her involvement in Death Stranding.
In doing so, she revealed Troy Baker’s involvement as well. However, it is unclear if the revelation was planned or is it a mistake on her part, posting such a big reveal early. But anyhow, it is now confirmed that Troy Baker is going to be working alongside her, Norman Reedus, and Mads Mikkelson for DS.
The game is still far from release but there are rumors that a release date is going to be announced soon. Death Stranding release date is expected alongside a gameplay reveal trailer at E3 2018. However, nothing has been confirmed yet.
Troy Baker previously worked with Hideo Kojima on his last game with Konami, The Phantom Pain. He lent his voice to Revolver Ocelot and was admired for his exceptional performance. Meanwhile, this is Norman’s second time working with Kojima on a video game project.
They both worked together on the canceled Silent Hills game. This is also the first time Norman and Troy Baker are working together. But it is possible that Troy was also a part of Silent Hills.
Emily O’Brien, on the other hand, has been involved in a number of games including Telltale’s Batman, Telltale’s Guardian’s of the Galaxy, Shadow of Mordor, and she is also the star of The Young and the Restless.
More information about the game is expected soon as it heads into its final testing phase. Both Hideo Kojima and Geoff Keighley seem to be planning something for the near future.
Death Stranding release is expected sometime in early 2019. It will come to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro. The rights to the game are with Sony so no plans for PC and Xbox One versions of the game.
