Hideo Kojima, the creator of Metal Gear Solid and the man currently working on Death Stranding with Sony, has successfully run some tests on his latest game using the Decima Engine. What kind of tests are run is unknown but Hideo Kojima seemed pretty happy about it on Twitter.
Posting on his social media account, Hideo Kojima mentioned that he can have a good night’s sleep after seeing the test results. From the looks of it, whatever tests he ran held a higher level of importance considering his reaction to the whole matter.
Today I was able to see the good result of testing DS. I think I will have a good sleep tonight.

While we don’t know much about what’s going on with Death Stranding’s development process, it won’t be long before we have something to share. According to a post by the official Kojima Production’s Twitter account, Kojima Productions and Guerilla Games will be at SIGGRAPH to discuss Death Stranding Engine.
For those who don’t know, Hideo Kojima and Guerilla Games are working together on Decima Engine. A different version of the same engine was used to develop Horizon Zero Dawn.
The collaboration [with Guerilla Games] started later…. The teaser we showed at E3 was in a different engine. Guerrilla Games had the right engine. Their engine is well suited to the tools and systems of an open-world game. This was a very important aspect for us.
Death Stranding is releasing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro sometime in 2019. The release date is not yet finalized but the title is expected sometime before the release of Akira.
We will have more details on Death Stranding engine in the coming weeks.
