Seems like the previously teased installment of the Darksiders franchise, Darksiders 3 may finally be happening if the word of one Nordic Games developer going by the name Megalomaniac NG are to be believed.
According to the developer, in a discussion thread on Steam regarding Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition, this remaster of the game was just the start for the developers and sort of a way for them to not only test the waters but also bring the fans back to the franchise and garner some new interests before finally revealing the next installment.
Darksiders II was originally created by Vigil Games and the franchise was later acquired by Nordic Games.
While assessing their options regarding Darksiders 3, the developers decided to treat the fans to a definitive version of Darksiders 2, one that would run at 1080p on the next generation consoles and also include all the DLCs.
The company also launched a loyalty program for Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition on Steam through which people who own the Darksiders franchise pack can get the remastered game for free while those who just own Darksiders 2 can get an 80% discount for the first week of release.
No estimated release window, plot details or gameplay changes about Darksiders 3 have been mentioned yet.
