The way Dark Souls 3 as being presented at E3 2015 and at Gamescom 2015 had most of us thinking that the game’s developers, From Software, had reached some sort of a partnership agreement with Microsoft; but that is not the case.
It was revealed recently by Atsuo Yoshimura the head of global marketing at Bandai Namco, that although it seems like they are in the same boat this time from the way From Software took the stage at Microsoft’s press conferences, it doesn’t mean they actually have a partnership.
It is true that we have shown the last two trailers [at] the Microsoft press conference at E3 and Gamescom. But that does not necessarily mean that there is a partnership with Microsoft.
So if the Xbox One users were expecting some sort of a exclusive treatment like PlayStation 3 got at the time of Dark Souls 2, you are out of luck guys.
However, it remains to be seen whether Dark Souls 3 developers are going to bring on any sort of exclusive content for a specific platform or not.
In parallel news, From Software is also planning a new project the details of which are going to be shared with us after Dark Souls 3 gets released – unless, of course, someone decides to leak what they are working on which is not improbable.
Dark Souls 3 will be released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One in the first half of 2016.
