CD Projekt RED Talks About Cyberpunk 2077 Vehicles, Robots

A few new CD Projekt RED job listings have implied that new hires will be designing and programming Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles for players to hack and drive.

According to CD Projekt RED job listings, Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles will be everything from planes to bikes to robots that players will be able to jack into and pilot for themselves. The listings imply that at least a number of these will be hackable and pilotable in-game, according to the job descriptions.

The Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles will, according to the listings, be designed by a senior art designer, whose job will be to design robots, vehicles, planes, cars, and more for the game’s world. A programmer is also being hired in order to handle the gameplay side of the vehicles, making sure that they play the way that they’re supposed to.

CD Projekt RED’s last attempt at a vehicle, Roach the horse in The Witcher 3, rapidly became a meme among the game’s fanbase for doing things he wasn’t supposed to do, like doing pushups on stairs, running off course, or getting stuck in level geometry. Hopefully, the Cyberpunk 2077 vehicles won’t be like that.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be a significant departure from CD Projekt RED’s usual fantasy fare, but hopefully the game will turn out to be even better than The Witcher 3, especially if all of its mechanics are fairly solid and work properly.

However, this brings a new bit of curiosity into the game and what all we’ll be able to hijack and pilot in its game. With jets, bikes, and even robots a distinct possibility, there’ll likely be a great deal of chaos that we can cause when we take control of them.

Either way, with no real sign of any sort of gameplay or a trailer from Cyberpunk 2077 likely to come out any time soon (it wasn’t even at this year’s E3, despite CDPR announcing a Gwent card game), we’ll probably have to keep on waiting until CD Projekt RED decides that they want to reveal what all Cyberpunk 2077 is all about.
