You thought that The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt was big in size? Wait until you have played Cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming title from CD Projekt Red.
According to Jose Teixeira, the game’s visual effects artist, “Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before.” Of course that includes The Witcher 3, how could it not!
Even more so, the game is so big that developers believes it is uncharted territory for them since they have never faced such expanse based complexities before.
However, having made a good sized game in The Witcher 3, they think the experience is actually helping with the development of Cyberpunk 2077:
If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it. I have a lot of things that I want to change and do better the next time around, and I can guarantee that almost everyone in that studio has something that they go ‘I did this this time, next time I can do it differently, I can do it better.
Let there be no confusion, when Teixeira talks about “next time” he is indeed referring to Cyberpunk 2077.
The game has been in development for far too long now, but with The Witcher 3 being put to rest slowly, we should start seeing it in the news more often.
