Capcom Announces Mega Man 11, Coming 2018 For Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC

Capcom has announced Mega Man 11, a new Mega Man game coming in late 2018 to the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, and the PC.

It’s been a long time coming, but Capcom has finally announced a new Mega Man game. Mega Man 11 will be coming out for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC in Late 2018, and will be the first main-line Mega Man game released since 2010 with the Mega Man 10 game.

While Mega Man has been one of Capcom’s most well-known franchises, with a large number of spinoffs such as Mega Man X, Mega Man Legends, Mega Man Battle Network (based on the Mega Man NT Warrior anime), Mega Man Zero, and more, its games have had years between releases, and indie games often use a Mega Man-like formula to built hype on nostalgia value.

It even got to the point of Mighty Number 9, a formerly hotly-anticipated Mega Man-like game that was even headed by Mega Man producer Keiji Inafune, being released after being kickstarted. However, that game failed utterly and got poor reviews, leaving Mega Man’s only real appearance in the last few years to be in other games that weren’t Mega Man-focused.

These included the most recent Super Smash Bros game, where Mega Man appeared, and Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, where he also made an appearance. The possibility of a Mega Man 11 coming out, being an actual mainline Mega Man game developed by Capcom, will hopefully keep Mega Man fans satisfied until Capcom can make another game, and hopefully marks a turning point that Capcom will put less time between releases.

Whichever way you look at it, you can watch the trailer for the game on the official Mega Man Twitter page. If that manages to get you excited, be on the lookout for the game releasing for the Xbox One, the Playstation 4, and the PC, in late 2018.

While there’s no mention of Mega Man 11 being on the Nintendo Switch, there’s still plenty of time for Capcom to announce a version for that console.
