The Xbox One backward compatibility list has just been updated, adding Call of Duty: MW3 to the bunch. With the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, it’s exciting to see more franchise titles being available on the console.
The Xbox One backward compatibility list has now over 500 video games released from the original Xbox and the Xbox 360 that you can now play on your current generation consoles. Just put in your disc and start playing, as with any Xbox One physical copy.
With the addition of Call of Duty: MW3, the dynamic of the backward compatibility service has become stronger, bringing old school players to Microsoft’s Xbox One. Since the Modern Warfare series have become one of the most iconic ones in the Call of Duty franchise, with Modern Warfare 2 gaining the Game of the Year Award in 2009, it’s only natural to be excited with this addition.
As it description on the list indicates, “the definitive Multiplayer experience returns bigger and better than ever, loaded with new maps, modes and features. Co-Op play has evolved with all-new Spec-Ops missions and leaderboards, as well as Survival Mode, an action-packed combat progression unlike any other”.
Microsoft announces new games added to the Xbox One backward compatibility list almost every week, with most of them being games that have defined players’ childhood. It’s not an easy task to perform, as developers in Microsoft have revealed, however, it’s a nice touch to players that want to replay their favorite video games but can’t do that on their old consoles.
A few days ago, GTA San Andreas, MIDNIGHT CLUB: LA and Table Tennis have also been added to the list as well. The Call of Duty franchise has it’s fair share of titles available on the service:
