Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the next installment of Activision’s popular FPS series, will debut later this week and fans from all over the world can buy it. Unfortunately, it will be a little harder for fans in Russia to get it, since they will not sell it on the PlayStation Store in this region.
This was revealed by the official account of the Call of Duty account for the Russian public and was subsequently confirmed by Activision in a statement that was sent to Eurogamer. Although they did not give many reasons why this will happen, they did make it clear that it is a situation out of their hands, since the one who made the decision was Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a fictional game that has been carefully created to entertain fans and tell an interesting story. Sony Interactive Entertainment decided not to sell Modern Warfare on the PlayStation Store in Russia this time. We are excited to launch Modern Warfare digitally in Russia on October 25 on PC through Battle.net and on console via Xbox.
It is worth mentioning that, so far, Sony Interactive Entertainment has not commented on this situation. It is also unknown if this decision will also impact the sale of physical copies of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in Russia or if they can be distributed without problems.
It is possible that the decision not to sell the game had to do with the fact that in the game’s narrative we will fight against Russian soldiers, in addition to the brutal actions committed by this government in the universe of the game. That said, the sub-series had already presented this country as villains and in previous installments there had been no problems.
Something that keeps fans very excited is the multiplayer Special Ops. To detail the experience that will come exclusively to PS4, Activision shared a video. As you can imagine, Special Ops Survival Mode will capture the essence of the COD survival mode and present a cooperative online experience in which players will have to endure the onslaught of enemies organized in waves.
The above may seem simple, but in reality it will be more complicated, because the enemies will not be easy to defeat, because even the opposing forces will deploy members with very powerful equipment.
That said, in Survival Mode it will be essential to have a good strategy and excellent communication with your team. Something important is that as the squad progresses it will be able to improve weapons and it will even be possible to request air support to end the strongest opponents.
If you want to try this game mode, we inform you that it will only be available on PS4 initially and will reach the other platforms almost 1 year later, until October 2020. To further spoil PS4 players, Activision released a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Theme for the system. This is a dynamic theme that refers to Captain Price’s signal to begin the mission in the dark.
I remind you that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be released on October 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
