The rumor about Burnout Paradise has started to arise from the streets of Brazil, where a Brazilian retailer listed Burnout Paradise Remastered for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will be released on March 1, 2018. Burnout was originally played on PlayStation 3, it was a latest addition to the Burnout series. Burnout Paradise was successful back in 2008, with tons of new cars and exciting challenges all around the place.
Reports from Brazilian blog gamepress posted the retailer listing for Burnout Paradise Remastered showing a release date of March 1, 2018, and game price for 149.90R$ (Brazilian Real), which comes around about $45 USD.
These are just rumors as there is no such official news from EA nor Criterion Games at the moment. We haven’t seen anything from the Burnout developer for a while so who knows, even a new Burnout game could be in development. For those who don’t know, developers often test the market demand by releasing remasters. It is a way to revive franchises that were on hiatus for a while.
So the real question if the rumor is true and the port is a success, could we see more Burnout games from EA? Interestingly, Criterion denied any plans to make a remaster earlier this year. While answering a question on Twitter, the official CriterionGames account confirmed that currently there are no plans to work on a remaster for the highly popular racer. This also seems to go hand in hand with EA’s general stance of no remasters.
