Before heading into the weekend, Bungie outlined improvements and features for Destiny 2 that the community can look forward to in the near future. The developer has promised a large focus on bettering the current rewards and incentives for the different game modes and difficulty levels, as well as for player-activity. One little change that may have gone unnoticed is for the issue of duplicate loot drops.
Gear is very important to the core of Destiny 2, a fact that sees millions of players investing precious resources day after day to grind their way forward. It is easy to imagine the frustration in this regard when players end up with the same loot that they already have. You can almost call it a trend where players receive the same exotic drop three or four times in a row.
According to Bungie, it is currently working on “ongoing improvements to Exotics” and “adjustments to reduce instances of duplication” in Destiny 2.
Unfortunately, the community has not been given a time frame as to when the changes will arrive. Some significant changes, such as the introduction of private multiplayer matches, are scheduled to arrive early next year. Destiny 2 is also scheduled to receive its first expansion pack in December, around which the second season will officially begin. Looking at it from a feasibility point of view, the reduction to duplicate loot may coincide with the expansion pack so that players can start the new season with a fresh goal.
Destiny 2 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
