We’ve decided to round up the best video games April Fools Day jokes we’ve ever seen, beginning with 2016’s brilliant efforts and going back through the years to re-live the top gaming gags:

The Witcher 3 – Behind the Scenes of Roach’s Bugs Development
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was brilliant in many ways. One aspect that wasn’t quite perfect however was that of Geralt’s trusty steed, Roach.
A few too many times Roach would glitch in some particularly strange ways, or not appear when you wanted her or just generally fail in hilarious ways. CD Projekt Red have revealed today that this was indeed all part of the plan though! Have a look at how they managed to pull off all these bugs and glitches, requiring months of preparation in the video below:
Armello: Fury Road
It looks like the role-playing strategy board game featuring anthropomorphic animals is getting a sequel based on Mad Max! Look out for it later in the year:

Possibly my favorite video games April Fools Day joke today! Ever wondered what it would be like to play as all the characters from Hearthstone in an actual MMO? Imagine an actual world full of incredible Warcraft where your favorite cards come to life! How cool would that be!? Well wonder no more, as Hearthstone: The MMO has been revealed today by Blizzard:
Dark Souls 3 Movie
Ever dreamed of seeing Dark Souls hit the big screen? Dream no longer as FromSoftware are transforming their brutal RPG into a full-feature length movie! The only catch being it’s solely available on the now-defunct medium of VHS. Check out the trailer:

Virtual Reality is all the rage at the minute! Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Playstation VR are all releasing soon and will capture the imaginations of players all over the world.

D5 – Dark Dreams Don’t Die with Deadly Premonition
D4 – Dark Dreams Don’t Die was an Xbox One Kinect game that was actually pretty good! It gained a cult following and many people clamored for a sequel or follow-up considering the ambiguity of the game’s ending.
Their prayers were seemingly answered last year until they realized what day it was – and that the promised sequel was a mash-up with the open-world survival horror game Deadly Premonition.
World of Warcraft T.I.N.D.R
Last year also looked like being a promising one for lonely gamers thanks to a new T.I.N.D.R. feature added to World of Warcraft with the help of Pleasure-Bot 8000. No longer will the confusing world of Azeroth dating be a concern for you! For one day at least…
Call of Duty: Ghosts playlists
In 2014, ActiVision decided to add some new, rather interesting modes into Call of Duty: Ghosts. ‘Do you even cap, Bro?’, ‘Tic Tac Fo’ and ‘PEW PEW’ are personal favorites of mine. Shame I never got to play them. Ah well, YOLO!
Apple iPlay
In 2013, Apple announced their brand new games console. The Apple iPlay was their latest, sleekest and most accessible gadget to date.
Finally we could play ‘Angry Birds: Fast and the Furious’, ‘Angry Birds: Rio’, ‘Angry Birds: Space’ and even the one-of a kind ‘Angry Birds: Seasons’ all in one place. Most fascinatingly, every feature on the iPlay could be controlled exclusively with the iPad Mini.
Gear of War for Playstation 3
Again in 2013, Gears of War Series Head Cliff Bleszinski was up to his usual tricks. The Xbox-exclusive series was officially announced for Playstation 3 with the specially designed Gears of War: Collection coming to Sony’s console that year.
Despite not even working for Epic Games anymore at the time of the tweet, ‘CliffyB’ still had the power to announce such a momentous reveal!
Assassin’s Creed Kinect
Ever wanted to truly feel like an Assassin like Ezio Auditore? Well in 2012 that dream could become a reality with Assassin’s Creed Kinect. Hang from buildings, glide from Da Vinci’s latest creation and even hide in haystacks with the state-of-the-art technology.
League of Legends 3D
Ever longed to play the most popular game in the world in 3 magnificent dimensions? Well in 2012 this was a possibility thanks to incredible new eye-popping technology and a pair of red and blue 3D glasses. Check out the trailer below:
Ultraviolent Super Smash Bros
Back in 2009, IGN went behind the scenes to have a look at a new gory take on one of Nintendo’s most beloved series. Super Smash Bros went ultraviolent with blood spewing from characters such as Mario, Link and Sonic.
