Progression is a big part of Battlefield 5’s explosive multiplayer. Each level unlocked yields your character new firearms, their mods, and other useful equipment. In our BFV Guide, we look at Battlefield 5 Class Unlocks at each level.
Battlefield 5 Class Unlocks
Overall, you can progress 20 levels in each class. Each of the four classes: Assault, Medic, Support, and Recon have two variations owing to the different playstyle.
Below you will find listed all the class unlocks in order of the level progressed:
Assault Class
Although you start with Light Infantry, at Level 8, you unlock Vehicle Buster for an improved control and ability to take down vehicles. The class unlocks are listed below:

- Level 2: Incendiary Grenade
- Level 3: Ruby Pistol

Medic Class
Starting initially with Field Medic, at Level 8, you unlock the Combat Medic role which gives you additional perks in sprinting, providing support, and range of melee weapons. The class unlocks are listed below:

- Level 2: Smoke Grenade
- Level 3: Ruby Pistol

Support Class
Starting with the Engineer, the Support Class allows an unlock at Level 8 for Machine Gunner combat role. This role will give you better suppression options and also track the enemy’s location better. The class unlocks are listed below:

- Level 2: Impact Grenade
- Level 3: Ruby Pistol
- Level 4: Ammo Crate Gadget, Hatchet, Battle Coins

Recon Class
After the starting class, Sniper, a new combat role is unlocked at Level 8: Pathfinder. This role focuses on spawning at desired locations and turning the tables by employing movement and position tactics on the battlefield.
