The last quarter of 2017 is going to be a huge one for Battlefield 1 while the game is going to receive some major content buff. As announced by DICE on the game’s official website, Battlefield 1 Operation Campaigns mode is officially coming next month, while its third DLC is set for release in December, featuring sea battles and naval warfare.
What is Operation Campaigns though? It is a mode spread across several maps which are based on real World War 1 battles. You battle on one map then go on to another, while you can still see the previous one in the horizon which seems like a nice little detail. You play the roles of either the offender or the defender and you have to battle side by side with your teammates in objective-oriented battlefronts.
The first Battlefield 1 Operation Campaign will be called Eastern Storm, and will combine the two Operations from In the Name of the Tsar expansion: Brusilov Offense and Red Tide. Eastern Storm will be available in November for Premium Pass members or In the Name of the Tsar DLC owners.
A second Operation Campaign will be available in November too, called Fall of Empires based on the maps Iron Walls and Conquer Hell. As DICE informed the players will “earn a special Battlepack for each completed Campaign”. An Operation Campaigns Codex will also be yours after your first successful Campaign.
What DICE didn’t forget to mention was the release of the game’s third DLC which is called Turning Tides. The company states in its press release:
Prepare for Battlefield 1 Turning Tides. In December, you will be able to conquer the sea, air, and land in Battlefield 1 Turning Tides, the third Battlefield 1 expansion. With a focus on naval warfare, you’ll engage in the daredevil Zeebrugge Raid and the Gallipoli Offensive, with the British Royal Marines as a new playable faction. Prepare for new maps, weapons, vehicles and other content as you take on the amphibious expeditions of World War 1.
Battlefield 1 is also getting a new update this month and an Anniversary Event for the game’s first year since release so be sure to check that out in October.
