The Persona series is one of the best JRPG series. The most recent part, Persona 5 is currently the fourth best PlayStation 4 game of all time on Metacritic. The only problem with Persona games is that we have to wait a long time for each, it was five years between Persona 4 and Persona 5. It seems that this does not apply to the inevitable successor that is Persona 6.
After the huge success of Persona 5 and Persona 4, it will not surprise anyone that Atlus is working on more games for the series including Persona 3: Dancing Moon Night, Persona 5: Dancing Star Night, and Persona Q2 but above all, it has been now confirmed that the team is working on Persona 6.
Atlus developer Kazuhisa Wada has indicated in a recent interview with Dengeki PlayStation:
- We are working on mid-to-long term plan, including new numbered entries, so that fans can continue to enjoy the Persona series after this year.
- We will engage in more collaboration projects.
- Persona Dancing downloadable content will continue until August. free DLC will be distributed weekly.
It seems Atlus is already working on Persona 6, but in the interview, Wada also indicated that Persona Q2, a Nintendo 3DS game that we do not know anything about, is still in full development at Atlus.
In other news, it looks like Persona series may finally lose its PlayStation exclusivity and release on other platforms. The news came from a survey by Atlus that asked the community if they would like to see Persona 6, a new shooter game, RPG, strategy RPG, and which platforms would you like to see it on, the options included were PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
