Since its release, Ark: Survival Evolved has gotten a vast number of updates and fixes, with the developer team being devoted to making it a successful survival game. Studio Wildcard has just recently announced that the game will receive a new, paid expansion named ARK: Aberration on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
ARK: Aberration will be set in an unstable ARK with a radioactive environment and, as the trailer suggests, you will be able to find much weird fauna and flora and explore places that bring a fantasy aspect to Ark’s gameplay. The description of ARK: Aberration Trailer reads:
Waking up on ‘Aberration’, a derelict, malfunctioning ARK with an elaborate underground biome system, survivors face exotic new challenges unlike anything before: extreme radioactive sunlight and environmental hazards, ziplines, wingsuits, climbing gear, cave dwellings, charge-batteries, and far more, along with a stable of extraordinary new creatures await within the mysterious depths.
But beware the ‘Nameless’: unrelenting, Element-infused humanoids which have evolved into vicious light-hating monstrosities! On Aberration, survivors will uncover the ultimate secrets of the ARKs, and discover what the future holds in store for those strong and clever enough to survive!

ARK: Survival Evolved is proof that survival games can continue growing way beyond their early access stage and bring more and more content to it until it becomes as real as life can be. Bringing fantasy aspects to such a game is a breath of fresh air. Who would have thought that a classic survival game with prehistorical creatures as its main feature would come this far?
