Metal Gear Solid 6 is on every concerned fans mind right now. Konami still owns the IP after Kojima’s departure from the company. And from there past actions, it isn’t hard to guess Konami doesn’t care about its gaming division as much as it 10 years ago. However, a recent trademark filing sparked speculations about Metal Gear Solid 6’s release.
So are we finally getting MGS 6? Is Konami working on another installment to the franchise? Well, it is hard to say at this point but it seems highly unlikely and here’s why.
A Twitter user discovered a trademark for Metal Gear Solid. This could mean many things including Metal Gear Solid 6, Metal Gear Solid Remake, Metal Gear Solid Collection for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. But the situation becomes clearer when placing this trademark alongside the recently released PlayStation Classic.
PlayStation Classic is the second coming of PlayStation One. It comes with a number of classic PlayStation One games and as we know, Metal Gear Solid is a classic PS One game. The trademark could point to MGS for the PlayStation Classic games library.
Having a conversation with one of my mates I think this is just for PlayStation Classic and Smash Bros. so dont get your hopes up. I really do hope they release a remaster collection or remake of the games. https://t.co/8nRCLtZ5wz

PlayStation Classic has a long list of games and this seems related to that. Although having MGS6 or the remastered collection would be great. Metal Gear Solid in native 4K on Xbox One X? Yes, please.
For the time being, we can only speculate what’s the future hols for Metal Gear Solid franchise. There are still many stories this franchise can tell, especially, if we go back to World War and follow the Cobra Unit led by the Boss.
