Intel i9 8950HK has been released for the mobile segment and the CPU features 6 cores and 12 threads, which is a lot for a laptop. Apple being in the business of providing powerful laptops will surely have an Apple MacBook Pro variant that will be powered by the Intel i9 8950HK.
While Apple is planning to produce chips of its own in 2020, for now, it has to rely on Intel to provide processors and with the Intel i9 8950HK out now you can expect to see one of the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro laptops to be powered by one of these chips. Not only does the chip have numerous cores and threads, it is fast too.
The Intel i9 8950HK has a base clock of 2.9 GHz and can boost to 4.6 GHz. It can also boost to 4.8 GHz on a single core. HK means that this is an overclockable CPU. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming Apple MacBook Pro will cool this beast because overclocking is a key feature of the CPU and for that, you need excellent cooling.
The Intel i9 8950HK features a 45W design and comes with 12 MB of cache. With the new CPU, Apple will be able to focus on 4K video editing on the go. You can expect to see 32 GB of RAM and a better-optimized battery for the 6 core beast.
The next Apple MacBook Pro laptops should be out by October and keeping in mind all the hardware that is inside, the price will not be cheap at all.
