BioWare’s new IP, Anthem, was discussed at EA PLAY but no details were revealed at all. However, Microsoft has shared all that we need to know about the new IP, Anthem on Xbox One X. BioWare’s Anthem will be enhanced for Xbox One X.
The game was talked about in detail at Microsoft’s Electronic Entertainment Expo press event. At first glance, it looks like the love child of Avatar and Mass Effect. The combat is similar to Mass Effect and there seems to be coop mode involved.
Anthem is releasing sometime in 2018 for Xbox One X. The game is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC as well but there are no details about those versions for the time being. The game has deep RPG elements but strangely enough, Anthem is described as an “action adventure” game and not a role-playing experience. The story-telling team at BioWare excels in the latter, but should not be counted out even if the game has slightly deviated from the genre.
BioWare will be sharing more about Anthem and we may see it at Sony’s E3 2017 press event as well. However, rumor has it that Microsoft may have scored a timed exclusive deal with BioWare, although nothing of sort was mentioned at E3 2017.
Anthem also teases morality choices with a quote: “you either live with the choices you make or die trying to change them.”
