Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp recently launched for mobile devices and has already become Nintendo’s second most successful mobile game ever. According to the report, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp was downloaded 15 million times worldwide in just 6 days.
The install size is twice compared to Fire Emblem Heroes which managed 8 million installs in the same time frame and the game is behind Super Mario Run which was installed 32 million times.
However, the installs do not matter in the light of the fact that Super Mario Run failed to meet Nintendo’s expectations in terms of generating revenue and Fire Emblem Heroes brought in more revenue for the company.
As for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, it currently stands in the Top 10 in Japan in terms of revenue generation, however, in the US the game is ranked #72. For comparison sake, Fire Emblem Heroes made it to No 8 in the US just a day after its launch. So, Animal Crossing has a long way to be financially successful for Nintendo.
Also, Nintendo wasn’t expecting the mobile title to be so successful as soon after its launch players flooded the game which caused a lot of issues.
However, Nintendo is looking into the issues and is fixing them and also apologized to players and also awarded 20 Leaf Tickets to the players. An in-game message posted by Nintendo reads:
The issue is still occurring intermittently but please be aware that we are investigating it and will resolve it as soon as possible. Thank you to those users who have contacted us or left feedback regarding this issue.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a free-to-play mobile title available for both iOS and Android devices.
